New Custom Field

The New Custom Field page allows you to define new custom fields for the current customer. You can also add field labels for each supported language.

1. Enter all required custom field information (identified by an asterisk (*)), noting the following:
   • Enter a descriptive name for the custom field.
   • If you do not want the selected customer to be able to edit this custom field definition, select the Defined by bank check box.
   • Select an appropriate data type and input validation pattern for the custom field. Available data types include:
     • Autocomplete – A custom field with a defined list of acceptable values for users to enter for the field. After a user types a pre-configured number of characters into an auto-complete custom field, matching values obtained from the data imported for the custom field are automatically presented to the user in a pop-up selection box, allowing the user to pick the value to set for the field.
     • Currency – A custom field for users to enter a currency.
     • Date – A custom field for users to enter a date.
     • Dropdown – A custom field that presents users with a drop-down menu containing a list of imported values for selection.
     • Numeric – A custom field for users to enter a numeric value.
     • Text – A custom field for users to enter a text value.
   • If you selected an autocomplete or dropdown custom field, you will need to import the source file containing the values for the field by clicking the Browse button, locating the source file you wish to import, and then clicking the Import Source File button to import the data.

     Note: The source file must be CSV-formatted and must conform to the following specifications:

     • The first row must include a short description of the file data, followed by entries defining each supported locale. You can have as many locales as you want (including none in which case the data values will be used as labels). Locales must be defined in language_COUNTRY format (exact match) or just language (COUNTRY ignored) where language and COUNTRY are the ISO standard two letter codes separated by an underscore (_) character if both are present. For example:

       Colour,en_US,fr_CA

     • Subsequent rows contain each data element, with one element identified per line. Each row must be formatted with an initial identifier for the data value, followed by the text that will be used for the value for each locale defined in the first row. For example:

       #ff0000,Red,Rouge

       #0000ff,Blue,Bleu

     • Blank lines will be ignored.
     • The file must use commas as separators between entries on each line.
     • The file can use double quotes as the escape character.
   • If you selected an autocomplete custom field, configure the following additional settings:
     • To set the number of characters a user must type before any matching auto-complete values are displayed to the user in a pop-up selection box, change the Minimum characters required before autocomplete search value.
     • To allow users to enter any value for the custom field (that is, to not require them to select one of the values imported in the data source file selected for the custom field and presented to the user in the pop-up selection box), selected the Allow unrestricted entry for autocomplete values check box.
   • If you want the custom field to appear on the Edit Item page, select the Show custom field check box and configure the following applicable settings:
     • If you want to allow users to edit the value for the custom field, select the Make custom field editable check box.
     • If you want to require users to enter a value for the custom field, select the Make custom field mandatory check box.
     • To pre-fill the custom field with the last user-selected value for items with the same account and routing transit values, select the Remember the last saved value for items with the same account and routing transit values check box.
   • Add locale labels to identify the purpose of this custom field to system users in each of your customer's supported languages.
     • Select a system language from the drop-down menu.
     • Enter the label for this language.
     • Click the Add Locale Label button.

       The new label information appears in the table.

     • Repeat this process for all system languages.

       Tip: If you find a mistake in an existing label, click the delete () icon next to it, then re-enter the proper label information.

2. When you have finished defining the new custom field, click the Save button to save your changes and return to the previous page.
