System Tools

The System Tools page allows you to queue the non-queued units of work in the database and to retransmit the failed units of work in the database. This page also displays the number of items currently in these states.

Additionally, depending on how your system is configured, you may have access to additional controls and be able to perform the following activities from this page:

To re-queue deposit items:

Non-queued items are stalled because their images have not passed through Rules application processing.

To place these items back on the processing queue, click the Requeue button. The Rules application will then attempt to process these items again.

To re-transmit failed deposits:

Receive failed deposits are completed deposits that were completed and transmitted by Completion application users but were not successfully transmitted to the Transaction Gateway.

To place these deposits on the transmit queue again, click the Retransmit button.

To temporarily disable automatic deposit completion:

If your system has been configured to use the timed deposit processing feature to automatically complete all eligible open-state deposits upon reaching a configured cutoff time, you can temporarily disable this timed deposit processing activity during runtime (without having to change parameter configuration settings and restart the application server).

To disable automatic deposit completion, click the corresponding Disable button. The automatic deposit completion status will change to Disabled and will remain disabled until you manually re-enable this timed deposit processing activity.

When you are ready to resume automatic deposit completion, click the corresponding Enable button.

To temporarily disable automatic deposit transmission:

If your system has been configured to use the timed deposit processing feature to automatically transmit all eligible completed deposits upon reaching a configured cutoff time, you can temporarily disable this timed deposit processing activity during runtime (without having to change parameter configuration settings and restart the application server).

To disable automatic deposit transmission, click the corresponding Disable button. The automatic deposit transmission status will change to Disabled and will remain disabled until you manually re-enable this timed deposit processing activity.

When you are ready to resume automatic deposit transmission, click the corresponding Enable button.

To re-stage and re-transmit failed deposits:

In multiple processing site environments, if your system is configured to allow you to re-stage and re-transmit deposits that are stuck in a failed transitional state (Transmitted or Queue Complete) after a remote processing site failure occurs and you have the required permissions, you can recover failed deposits for that remote site. The recovery process is a two-step process that involves first re-staging the failed deposits (which sets them to a Receive Failed state, allowing them to be re-transmitted), and then re-transmitting the deposits.

Warning: Do not perform this recovery procedure unless you are certain that no valid deposits are currently in process at the selected site as re-staging does not differentiate between failed deposits in a Transmitted or Queue Complete state and valid deposits currently in process and in those same states. If you perform this procedure on valid deposits, you run the risk of potentially transmitting the same deposit records twice.

To re-stage and re-transmit failed deposits:

  1. Select the failed processing site (for example, PC1) from list of remote sites displayed in the re-stage drop-down menu.

The counter displaying the number of un-staged deposits for the selected processing site updates to show the current number of deposits stuck in a failed transitional state (Transmitted or Queue Complete).

  2. Click the Restage button to change the state of the failed transitional state deposits to Receive Failed.
  3. Select the failed processing site (for example, PC1) from the list of remote sites displayed in the re-transmit drop-down menu.

The counter displaying the number of deposits ready for re-transmission for the selected processing site updates.

  4. Click the Retransmit button to re-transmit the Received Failed deposits for the selected processing site.

To view current parameter configuration settings:

If you have been assigned the View Preferences (VIEW_PREFERENCES) permission, you will have access to additional controls on the page to view (and make temporary changes to) the current preference values in effect for the application server hosting the Completion application.

To view the parameter configuration settings currently being used by the application:

  1. Click the Show Preferences button.

The page updates to show a folder (for example, "Commercial") containing the current root-level preferences being used by the application (that is, the preferences set in the <InstallDir>\properties folder, and any overrides configured for the current segment in the corresponding <InstallDir>\properties\<Segment> override folder).

Note: The preference values displayed within the folder represent the root-level preference settings and do not reflect any additional levels of overrides (for example, work type-, account-, or customer-level overrides) level beyond any configured segment-level overrides.

  2. Select the preferences you wish to view.

Depending on which preferences you wish to view, you can limit the displayed preferences to show the current values for a specific customer and/or specific preferences:

Once you have finished selecting your desired preferences, click the Search button.

The page updates to display the preferences based on your selection(s).

  3. View and/or manage the current preferences settings, noting the following:
