Challenge Question Setup

If your system is configured to include second factor user authentication, this page allows you to set up the challenge questions that will be used to verify your identity when logging into the application. You can also access this page to make any changes to your selected questions and answers.

After selecting the questions you want to use (and providing answers to those questions), you will be prompted to provide the correct answer to one of your questions at the following times when you attempt to access the application:

• the first time you log into the application after setting up your challenge questions
• each time you log into the application if Remember me on this computer was not selected when you set up your questions
• at the following times if Remember me on this computer was selected when you set up your questions:
  • when logging into the application on a different workstation
  • when logging into the application using a different Web browser
  • after a configured length of time has passed since you first selected Remember me on this computer

Setting Up Your Challenge Questions

If your system is configured to allow a grace period before your questions must be set up, you will see a message at the top of the page showing you how many days you have remaining before you must make your selections. If you do not want to set up your questions now, you can click the Postpone challenge question setup until next Sign On link.

Otherwise, complete the following steps to set up your challenge questions:

1. Select the challenge questions you want to be prompted with, noting the following:
   • Refer to the instructions on each page for details about any specific requirements for your challenge questions and answers (for example, minimum answer length).
   • The answers you provide are not case sensitive.
   • The answers you provide must be longer than the specified minimum number of characters.
2. Optionally, if you only want to be prompted with challenge questions on this workstation when required, click Remember me on this computer on the last question page.
3. When you have finished setting up your questions, click the Save button.
