Alerts

The Alerts page allows you to list the alerts generated by the system when customers and users exceed their configured deposit limits (single deposit and item limits as well as user deposit limits) or item processing thresholds (item exception thresholds and deposit limit thresholds). Depending on which alerts you wish to view, you can either search for a specific alert by ID number, or construct a query to search for a range of alerts.

To display a specific alert:

  1. Enter the identification number assigned to the alert in the Alert ID field.
  2. Click the Refresh Alerts button.

The alert matching your entered Alert ID number appears in the table at the bottom of the page.

To display alerts using a query:

  1. Construct your query using the following guidelines:
    1. To limit alerts by status, select one of the following items from the Status drop-down menu.
      • All Open – Restrict your query to alerts with an "Open - New" and "Open - Viewed" status.
      • All Closed – Restrict your query to alerts with a "Closed - Disregard", "Closed - Adjust profile", and "Closed - Possible fraud" status.
      • Open - New – Restrict your query to new alerts that have not yet been reviewed.
      • Open - Viewed – Restrict your query to alerts that have been viewed but have not been closed.
      • Closed - Disregard – Restrict your query to alerts that have been reviewed and marked as not warranting further analysis.
      • Closed - Adjust profile – Restrict your query to alerts that have been reviewed and marked as possibly requiring profile, tier, or specific limit and threshold override adjustments.
      • Closed - Possible fraud – Restrict your query to alerts that have been reviewed and marked as possibly being fraudulent transactions.
    2. To limit alerts by type, select one of the following items from the Type drop-down menu:
      • All deposit limits – Restrict your query to alerts generated for any of the configured Single Deposit and Item Limits (that is, the Deposit amount, Item amount, Approved item amount, and Item count limits) and Deposit Limits Per User limits (that is, the period amount and count limits for the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu).
      • All deposit thresholds – Restrict your query to alerts generated for any of the configured Deposit Thresholds (that is, the period amount and count thresholds for the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu).
      • All single deposit limits – Restrict your query to alerts generated for any of the configured Single Deposit and Item Limits (that is, the Deposit amount, Item amount, Approved item amount, and Item count limits).
      • All user multi-deposit limits – Restrict your query to alerts generated for any of the configured Deposit Limits Per User limits (that is, the period amount and count limits for the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu).
      • All item exception thresholds – Restrict your query to alerts generated for any of the configured Item Exception Thresholds (that is, the CAR/LAR low confidence rate, CAR/LAR zero confidence rate, IQA failure rate, MICR failure rate, Item edits, and Duplicate item rate thresholds).
      • Single deposit amount limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit a deposit that exceeds the configured limit for the maximum dollar value permitted for a single deposit.
      • Item amount limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit a deposit that includes a deposit item which exceeds the configured limit for the maximum dollar value permitted for a single item within a deposit.
      • Approved item amount limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit a deposit that exceeds the configured approved item amount limit (that is, the maximum dollar value permitted for a single item within a deposit before the deposit must be transmitted by another user).
      • Item count limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit a deposit containing more than the configured limit for the maximum number of items permitted in a single deposit.
      • Deposit count limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit more than the configured limit for the maximum number of deposits allowed during the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu.
      • User deposit amount limit – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit more than the configured maximum total dollar value limit of deposits allowed during the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu.
      • Deposit amount threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit more than the configured threshold value for the maximum total dollar value of deposits allowed during the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu.
      • Deposit count threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when a user attempts to transmit more than the configured threshold value for the maximum number of deposits allowed during the period (Any, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) you select from the Period drop-down menu.
      • CAR/LAR low threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall percentage of items flagged by the Rules application as having a confidence rating between the configured upper and lower CAR/LAR confidence thresholds (for example, between 30% and 55%) exceeds the configured threshold value. Items with a confidence rating in this range require an operator to verify the item amount.
      • CAR/LAR zero threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall percentage of items flagged by the Rules application as having a confidence rating below the configured lower CAR/LAR confidence threshold (for example, below 30%) exceeds the configured threshold value. Items with a confidence rating in this range require an operator to enter an item amount.
      • IQA failure threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall percentage of items flagged by the Rules application as having failed Image Quality Assessment (IQA) testing exceeds the configured threshold value.
      • MICR read failure threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall percentage of items flagged by the Rules application as having MICR errors exceeds the configured threshold value.
      • Item edits threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall number of user actions performed on processed items (including any user overrides, confirmation or changes to the item amount, changes to field data (fields 1-10), and any item reclassifications) exceeds the configured threshold value.
      • Duplicate items threshold – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when the overall percentage of items flagged by the Rules application as duplicate items exceeds the configured threshold value.
    3. To limit alerts to those generated for a specific capture source, select the desired capture source from the Capture Source drop-down menu. This will restrict your query to Single Deposit and Item alerts (Deposit amount ($), Item amount ($), Approved item amount ($), and Item count) generated for the selected capture source (or sources).
    4. To limit alerts to a specific period, select one of the following items from the Period drop-down menu:

      • Weekly – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when any of the weekly Deposit Limits Per User limits or Deposit Thresholds (that is, Weekly amount ($) or Weekly count) are exceeded and when any of the Item Exception Thresholds are exceeded for a single week.
      • Monthly – Restrict your query to those alerts generated when any of the monthly Deposit Limits Per User limits or Deposit Thresholds (that is, Monthly amount ($) or Monthly count) are exceeded and when any of the Item Exception Thresholds are exceeded for a single month.
    5. To limit alerts to a specific risk category, select one of the following items from the Risk drop-down menu:
      • Low – Restrict your query to those alerts generated for customers (and associated customer users) that were assigned a low risk in their deposit profile.

      • To limit the query to a specific ending date and time, select the End date check box and enter a specific date and time.

Note: If you do not set a date range, all alert records stored in the Capture database will be considered (as appropriate) in the query.

    7. To limit alerts to a specific range of customers, select Range in the Customer control grouping, enter the first character of the first customer name you wish to limit your query to in the "from" range field, and then enter the first character of the last customer name you wish to limit your query to in the "to" range field (for example, entering F to H, limits your query to all customers with customer names beginning with the letters F, G, or H).

Note: Customer names beginning in a numeric value (0-9) will be included before the letter A in any specified ranges.

    8. To limit alerts to a specific customer, select Name in the Customer control grouping, and then enter the customer name in the Name field, or click the Find Customer link to locate the desired customer.
